We provide camping sites, communal kitchen and showers plus toilets in addition cabins and Cottages plus motel type flats and units. The property was first established as a farm around 100 years ago. The old driveway to the homestead is still visible complete with stately oak trees towering on both sides of it. Little cabins and motel type wooden Cottages have been built beneath these trees. When hot water was found around 30 years ago, a huge concrete pool (18 x 6 m) was built and school children from all over the district came to use it as part of their annual school picnics and camping trip. The pool area has since been extended and includes our special alfresco pool with hot mineral water, open all year between 6.30 – 8.30 pm under an umbrella of pure new Zealand stars. Guests are free to enjoy this natural Hot mineral pool on the premises. The pure, soft water feels wonderful to the skin and helps ease sore joints. There is a constant flow of water in this pool, to help you unwind even more. This pool is drained and cleaned every day, so we can guarantee you will always find it immaculate.
The larger pool is open all summer and provides loads of fun for the children with temperatures reaching up to 28 degree C.
Talk about pampering, we also have a massage hydro SPA, sit there and enjoy the star light. This SPA pool is heated constantly between 38 - 40 degrees and available between 9 am and 9 pm at a charge of $ 5 per person for half an hour.
More buildings have been added to the park since the early days. Tourist flats and self serviced pioneer style cottages have been carefully placed under the trees to provide a variety of accommodation including campsites. All cabins and cottages have a television and some cooking facilities. Cabins sleep up to three guests while cottages and flats offer a range of bedding options for up to 6 guests.
Near the entrance is a garden house with Macrocarpa slabs as tables, seating up to 20 people - great for relaxing, or meals - we can arrange group dinners or breakfasts.
In our sunny and modern recreation block you find a pool table, a separate TV lounge with a large selection of books free to exchange, toys for smaller children and a separate Computer room - in addition free of charge wireless broadband is available in most areas of the camp. Lawn tennis available. The spacious grounds have magnificent views of Mount Te Aroha and spectacular sunsets to the west. Your children will love to use the park’s playgrounds, tree swing and trampoline or our pedal go-kart. There is even a designated area for dog owners and in the adjoining farmlet beef-cattle are raised and race horses are bred and during spring time you may be able to feed our pet lamb.
